Routine though competently made cavalry vs. indians western. Real life WWII hero Audie Murphy is a cavalry captain trying to get a shipment of gun though to Apache land to fight an indian uprising. Besides perspective on who are the real villains are in these types of westerns, this is an entertaining and picturesque western, despite it's many faults (the terrible narration being the worst) if you're a fan of the genre.

Very good and underrated Western with Murphy solid as always in the lead role. Nice little sub-plot with the army traitor trying to sell snazzy new lever-action rifles to the Apache.

wow umn just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a good movie 2 watch.....its got a good cast of actors/actressess thorughout this movie.....i think that michael blodgett, laraine stephens, audie murphy, kenneth tobey. michael burns play good roles/parts throughout this movie.....i think that the director of this western/drama/adventure/action movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie.....i think that this is a good western movie 2 watch its got a good cast of actors/actressess thorughout this movie...i think that the fight scenes n the gun shoot outs were good throughout this movie...i think that this is a good western movie 2 watch

So-so Murphy ﬁlm and among his last. Few folks are goodies here—not even the Apaches—and Murphy has to play almost the lone good guy (while romancing Stephens) and put things straight. Too much dialogue throughout and out of step with better westerns of this era.
