A mediation on Buddhist teachings of freedom from earthly desires, and the impermanence and cycling of life, by following the changes in an old man, a young boy and a young man as they each in their own way struggle to attain understanding. The beauty within reach is displayed throughout the film by stunning photography and natural metaphors

Peaceful and meditative, if slightly impenetrable exploration of Zen buddhism. Beautifully composed this work pushes forward the boundaries of what can be achieved on film almost to a higher plane. The spareness of the script belies the depth contained within and shows that when not much is spoken out loud, what is said contains an unassuming power. "To leave is to arrive and to arrive is to leave"

This movie is good but it is heavily steeped in Korean Seong (like Zen, but Korean) Buddhist elements, such as disjointed photography aimed at memicking the koan tradition. Not meant to be conceptually logical but rather visually experiential.

What can I say about this wonderful little movie? Other than it is a beautiful little slice of life rendered with elegant simplicity and great cinematography that manages to say sooo much with so little... Like a Zen parable...
