Who'll Stop the Rain (1978)

John, a disillusioned Vietnam War journalist, turns to heroin smuggling. He cons Ray, an equally burnt out veteran into delivering the drugs stateside to his wife. Everything soon falls apart and Ray ends up on the run with John's wife trying to evade crooked narcotics agents.

Nick Noltes best IMHO. A tale of a man hell bent on getting his piece of the pie. Set to the backdrop of a time peace, love and war. A great soundtrack to boot!

A gem of a film! This tense crime drama features Nolte on the run from a corrupt cop and a pair of criminals. The performances are pitch perfect, especially from Nolte, and the tone is gritty and realistic. In addition, the climax is very suspenseful and caps the film perfectly. It's not perfect - it drags in the opening sequences - but it is shamefully ignored and under appreciated!
