The timeliness of What Happened, Miss Simone? cannot be understated. It's essential viewing in these times...

This documentary is certainly informative and interesting, but it doesnt pack the overall power of the last couple of oscar nominated docs I've seen recently. It does however paint a portrait of its subject that gives you a sense of who she was and how her life was.
