Washington Square (1997)

There was just something about this movie. You feel anxious the whole time you're watching it. No particular complaints against the movie, maybe it was just the story itself I didn't like. But it felt as though I was missing something the entire time.

There's isn't much tension here, and, if anything, the film is stolen by Maggie Smith and Judith Ivey as Finney's sisters.

We keep complaining about the contemporary world - just take a look at those 18-19th century people - they had really messed up lives. Anyway, the film's boring - visually and storywise (a costume drama plus unhappy love story - wow! that's new) it's as dull as it can only be, a big, no... a HUGE yawn. Chaplin was alright however, a bit neurotic, but acceptable.
