People may say I have overrated this film, but I don't care. John Carpenter makes a spellbinding spactular film with a great theme score to go with it. Being a fan of his since 1986 he has delivered a great intense film with great style of direction with a great cast to go with it.

Based on John Wyndham's 'The Midwich Cuckoos', this film was one of the better sci-fi stuff remade from classics. Though they should have incorporated more from the book since the movie did miss out a couple of major pointers and themes, this was relatively a faithful adaptation of the book. Not forgetting an excellent star cast. Reeve was effective, the kids were awesome, especially the one playing the leader..she was chilling!

Good but because, unlike the original, it is not in black and white it loses the atmospheric quality which made the original so good. Reeve is brilliant in what was one of his final appearances on the big screen.
