Valmont (1989)

Set in Baroque France, a scheming widow and her lover make a bet regarding the corruption of a recently married woman. The lover, Valmont, bets that he can seduce her, even though she is an honorable woman. If he wins, he can have his lover to do as he will. However, in the process of seducing the married woman, Valmont falls in love.

Nice try, but Glenn, John and Michelle did it much better

This film has the unlucky to be shown after the other version more famous!But it's a great work because for the first time I have pity for Valmont!Only thing bad: Meg Tilly isn't so actractive!(even if in the real life Colin has a son with her)

One would never think that a film about French aristocrats would be interesting at all, but it is impossible to stop watching. Witty, charming, and very well put together. One that went completely under the radar and needs to resurface.

Little known Milos Forman version of Dangerous Liaisons, with younger Colin Firth and Anette Bening starring--more overtly sexy and playful than Malkovich/ Close version, and not quite as brilliant or classic, but very interesting to watch 2 together, especially if you're read the book as well.
