Uncanny (2015)

For ten years, inventor David Kressen has lived in seclusion with his inventions, including Adam, a robot with incredible lifelike human qualities. When reporter Joy Andrews is given access to their unconventional facility, she is alternately repelled and attracted to the scientist and his creation. But as Adam exhibits emergent behavior of anger and jealousy towards her, she finds herself increasingly entangled in a web of deception where no one's motives are easily decipherable.

an interesting slow burn if a sci do thriller. a bit in the predictable side but had it got the release before Ex Machina it would probed to be a bit more original. great acting by all involved and an interesting story line

Enjoyable from the beginning to the end for me. The tension builds fairly early and maintains after, something hard to pull off in my experience. The actors do a good job of convincing you to drop your guard just in time to make you nervous again. Good thriller.

Even if you aren't seeing this after Ex Machina, it still won't be very good. But the performances are good enough that you think the reason you don't like them is because of the writing, not the actors. And the ending was pretty good, and picked up a little bit. I didn't love Ex Machina, but this makes it look great!
