A great thriller with terrific use of split screen. Very 70's, but that's a good thing.

A "progressive", pre-Reaganite (and post-JFK--triangulation of fire!), post-Vietnam, nuclear, alchemy of revolution fantasy-thriller, that wants both to disbelieve and believe in the American political and military leadership, and in American democracy. Featuring good use of the split screen.

It's easier to admire Twilight for its intent and its astonishing cast than for what it actually achieves.

Marred by dialogue-heavy scenes and an endurance test of duration. Like Taking of Pelham 123, I feel I will gain more from repeated viewings. Charles Durning is perfect as the sacrificial lamb in a corrupt world. It's all very good. But for the aforementioned, it could have received warmer reviews by first-time viewers, (like me). As a second-time viewer, I feel exactly the same. Could easily lose half an hour of chat and a much cleverer designed bomb coming out of a chopper.

An underrated nail-biter that had me going from start to finish. A great cast fills out this terrific movie's subplots- one of Robert Aldrich's finest films (especially from his later period)
