Diffenitely in my top ten. A spooky movie but also deeply touching. Probably the only movie that really explores the nature of God.

I was surprised when I read the original novel of The Ninth Configuration. I noticed that author William Peter Blatty had changed almost nothing in the film adaptation of his own book, which created a narratively unconventional but fascination film. The story hearkens back to Flannery O'Connor, presenting the Christian answer to the problem of evil without proselytizing to the audience or dipping into sentimentality or melodrama. This one is not to be missed.

Excellent dialog, beautiful shots, and a well-preened cast as well as peppered moments of humour make this Blatty picture FAR outshine The Exorcist (which was also, for the record, a great film.) Stacy Keach is incredible in this film. A cult classic.

From the screenwriter of Exorcist and Exorcist 3 comes this tale of mental patient soldiers. Full of weird theologic discussions and perverse religious humor. For those who want to watch a intelligent comedy with political satire.
