Being disappointed by "The Exorcist III", I was wary to watch this one, but am happy to be mistaken. "The Ninth Configuration" is clever, beautiful and emotionally engaging. It's like a surrealistic brother of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". Of course, it may be argued that Blatty's not as skilled as Forman, but his directorial is very strong and assured. The movie's too good to complain -- I go along with subjectivity and give it the 10\10. A must see if only for the beautiful location -- that castle there is just breathtaking. Too bad Blatty's made only 2 movies, I'd definitely like to see more. PS: it was fun to see Blatty himself on the screen. It appears I remember his face very well :)

I was recommended this film by some site that listed it as a hidden gem in horror. Nothing about this film is a horror movie. that threw me off on watching it as thats what i was expecting. Its a drama and feels like something that was adapted from a stage play. The movie is about trying to cure Military personal who have gone insane or are faking it. Its pretty well acted and i found it kind of interesting but the plot twist of it all just felt kind of... idiotic. It pretty much all takes place in this castle which feels like a weird place to have a asylum at. other than that the only other set is a bar. Would i want to watch this again, probably not.

Amazing film, amazing script. An odd mix of creepy drama and comedy.

Great film. Wonderfully comedic and insightful script with a bundle of some of the best supporting actors in the day.

Exellent, cerabral and spiritual essay, with a great cast. Full of intresing ideas, even for non believers. Fave line dept........" I dont belive in god, but i belive in the devil all right. You know why, cos the prick keeps making comercials!". Recomended
