Trancers (1984)

Angel City trooper Jack Deth is sent back in time from 2247 to 1985 L.A. to inhabit the body of his ancestor. Deth's assignment is to find his archenemy, Whistler, who turns people into zombies, before the fiend is able to kill all the ancestors of the future's governing council.

not crazy about remakes but this would be a nice one

Where to start? Well its enjoyable, but only for all the wrong reasons. Made in a more innocent time this is definitely laughable. Diabolical acting, special effects that are anything but and a fetish for neon are only some of the things that make the film. Yes I can honestly say that it has transversed badness back into goodness. Just the kind of cheese fest that I can cheerfully sit back and chuckle along to. Bring on the sequels!

Trancers, running about 70 minutes, is just about perfect. It's a silly, quick Blade Runner - Terminator ripoff. The best Full Moon picture I've seen.

The main character's name is Jack Deth, and he's a time traveling cop from the future. That's pretty much an amazing premise if you ask me. He's pretty much a badass who does shit his own way, so much a badass in fact that he loses his badge in the first scene. He's also got a watch called 'the long second' watch. When activated it makes 1 second stretch into 10 and gives us the 80's equivalent of bullet time. So all in all, 'Trancers' is pretty awesome if you like movies from the 80's about time traveling badasses.

Pretty decent Terminator/James Bond rip-off. Lead dude called Jack Deth and he beats up old waitresses.
