Injured by an IED in Afghanistan, Tesla has returned home to London, but it doesn't feel like home anymore. Suffering from PTSD, with no friends or family, he is alone with his regrets and a very bleak horizon. That is, until the universe conspires to help him with an unlikely friendship. The charming and larger than life Sky bounds into Tesla's world, quickly proving that friendship can be a great healer. Joy, enthusiasm and hope prove infectious and soon Tesla, not only finds meaning but also, a job and a girlfriend. However, Sky is hiding a secret and it's catching up with him fast.

Robert Duvall as the original Karl Childers...mmm hmmm. Based on a book by William Faulkner and I guess it was also a play. Filmed in grainy black and white this story is about a poor dude willing to give his unequivocal love to a pregnant woman he finds outside his shack. Kept me interested throughout the entire film....the ending is superb!

my favourite movie of all time. It brought me to my knees when I first saw it. Such a magnificent prtrayal by Robert Duvall and a look at life in the South back then.

Outstanding drama with remarkable performances from everyone in the cast. Robert Duvall gives one of his best performances, Olga Bellin reminds me of Geraldine Page and she is terrific. Sudie Bond is great in a supporting role. Brilliantly directed, it has a great feel to it. The cinematography is excellent.

It starts off rather slowly, but it ends very powerfully. Be prepared to sit still and enjoy!
