Scout Finch, 6, and her older brother Jem live in sleepy Maycomb, Alabama, spending much of their time with their friend Dill and spying on their reclusive and mysterious neighbor, Boo Radley. When Atticus, their widowed father and a respected lawyer, defends a black man named Tom Robinson against fabricated rape charges, the trial and tangent events expose the children to evils of racism and stereotyping.

Best movie i've ever seen. Atticus couldn't be played better, Mayella is perfect, and the kids are wonderful. Plus, a sexy Robert Duball makes an appearence. Even the cracked out neighbor was played spot on. Hello, I love you, TKaM..I love you. PS the girl who plays Scout is in my fave Twilight Zone episode.

I'm convinced it's impossible to appreciate this movie until you watch it privately. The education system gives it a bad reputation. In truth, To Kill a Mockingbird is one of those pitch-perfect film adaptations, the kind where all the stars align: a superb cast meets an excellent screenplay and a capable director and voila! No matter how bleak some moments in the film are, and some moments are pretty bleak, To Kill a Mockingbird maintains all the hopefulness of the novel, all of Atticus's heroics and intelligence, and it's definitely one of my favourite films of all time.

Someone recently rated this film very poorly and could not see the point of it. The point is very simple. We cannot change this world it has been left to run its own course until the alloted hour. We can become exhausted, through hounding, if we become to actively involved with change. We then take the focus of what is truly important. The sanctity of family life. Gregory Peck starred as Atticus Finch in this inspirational drama based on the book by Harper Lee. To Kill A Mockingbird is wonderful film about the man fighting against racism, this is totally powerful. I really loved the novel since I was a child, and this is brilliant adaptation. Classic!!
