Julia Lambert is a true diva: beautiful, talented, weathly and famous. She has it all - including a devoted husband who has mastermined her brilliant career - but after years of shining in the spotlight she begins to suffer from a severe case of boredom and longs for something new and exciting to put the twinkle back in her eye. Julia finds exactly what she's looking for in a handsome young American fan, but it isn't long before the novelty fling adds a few more sparks than she was hoping for. Pure brilliance from Bening. She embodied all there was about Julia Lambert. Her role was provocative, but she also gave the character a reason from the viewers to love her. An the amazing story was just icing on the cake.

The fact that Annette Benning did not get an Oscar for this will never cease to bug me. A classic. Jeremy Irons gives, as well, a great performance. The attention to detail in the film is also note-worthy. A great De Lempika painting with Annette Benning's head made me laugh.

Seriously underrated film that would have become overrated if it had gotten any more attention. A perfect vehicle for an actress of Benning's melodramatic tale. Great movie about art sustaining you through life, and getting even.
