surprisingly good movie about a rugby player. Richard Harris was really good.

Seems derivitive now, but that's becasue it's been derived from so often. Could have been shorter and tighter.

Wow, great movie. The tension and chemistry between Harris and Roberts is incredible. It's an emotional rollercoaster, and the rugby scenes are incredibly filmed. One of the best sports films ever, and a classic from one of my favorite directors.

A Sports Movie for those of us who could care less about Sports Movie. Richard Harris is a revelation as a troubled Rugby player with anger issues who is drawn to his withdrawn landlady (Rachel Roberts). Added realism points as Harris was an accomplished rugby player and Roberts was an accomplished angry drunk with serious relationship issues in her marriage to Rex Harrison.
