My favorite movie of all time. Shows the beginning of the classic Hollywood love between Bogey and Bacall. Cast is brilliant. Howard Hawks does an amazing job (that won him a bet) turning a boring Hemmingway novel into a true Hollywood Classic.

I just saw this movie at as a double feature with Casablanca at the Paramount in Austin and I fell in love with the dialogue and the chemistry between Bogie and Bacall.

i have watched this movie countless times. Bogart in his alpha self, and bacall as very insolent. i love it that hawks threw out a challenge that he could make a film from hemingway's worst novel. bacall, however, isn't the best singer, she sang better in the big sleep.
