despite not being totally faithful to the book, leaving out a lot of important plots (such as armours), it's a pretty awesome adaptation.

In my opinion, Starship Troopers is a perfect sci-fi classic. Sure the gore is way over the top and unbelievable, the acting is terrible, and the story is more cliche than a crying clown, but that is what sci-fi really is all about.

One of the most misunderstood films of all time - so much so that even its most ardent fans don't like it for the right reasons. Verhoeven rides the line so finely between political conviction and philosophical satire that many have struggled to appreciate just how well crafted this sci-fi is. With so much more than meets the eye, Paul Verhoeven's final science fiction film is also his masterpiece.
