No wonder I feel it so Rebecca, Suspicion and Spellbound-alike. The Freudian analysis is not much impressive and the mental motivation is not at all interesting.

Nice creepy noir with a very unique plot.

Borrowing a plot from the Bluebeard legend, and chucking in a load of sub-Freudian hokum, Fritz Lang nonetheless makes a class act of this Gothic psycho-thriller.

Quand la psychanalyse alimentait les scenarios hollywoodiens... Reste que Lang n'etait pas un manchot.

A solid Hollywood film by Fritz Lang in which the darker side of marrying on a whim slowly unfolds until the secret of what's behind the locked door is told. Formulaic but enjoyable.
