Remarkably, the story, adapted by Blume with her son, director Lawrence Blume, seems as fresh, painful and poignant as when she wrote it.

Tiger Eyes was one of the umpteen novels I grew up reading. I didn't know a movie on it has come out until recently. As the screenplay was written by the inimitable novelist herself, Judy Blume, the movie has brought out the essence of the story, just as how I imagined it in my mind while reading the book as a teenager. Willa Holland is beautiful as Tiger and Tatanka Means is sure hunky! A lovely treat I'd recommend to mothers and daughters.

Directed and constructed without distinction; nevertheless, it is quite moving, thanks to Blume's storytelling and the sincerity of the performances.

slow story, maybe not the most polished it could be, a few loose ends here and there, but overall, a big emotional impact at the heart of this story is what 's most important.
