In WW I dancer Jerry Jones stages an all-soldier show on Broadway, called Yip Yip Yaphank. Wounded in the War, he becomes a producer. In WW II his son Johnny Jones, who was before his fathers assistant, gets the order to stage a knew all-soldier show, called THIS IS THE ARMY. But in his pesonal life he has problems, because he refuses to marry his fiancée until the war is over.

My first Reagan film! Not bad, but clearly propaganda.

Maybe because I am a babyboomer, I love these old movies that are especially patriotic.

A young Ronald Reagan stars in this film about World War I buddies who reunite to produce a World War II Broadway revue 25-odd years after their original one. Solid then-and-now contrasts, wholesome American values! Music and a cameo appearance by Irving Berlin. "This time, we will all make certain, that this time, is the last time!"

One of my favorite WWII flicks. I saw this movie when I was a kid (no, I was NOT a kid in 1943.) I recently purchased it, just so I could watch it again. This movie does have the sentimental plot line characteristic of this genre, but most of the movie centers around a generous amount of great WWII song and dance numbers. If you enjoy this classic form of entertainment like I do, then buy this movie real cheap on Amazon.
