This true story has been augustly brought to the screen, with brilliant performances, by Mel Gibson and Linda Hunt. It is a must-see, for those who haven't seen it.

Is there anything Peter Weir can't do? He even got an Oscar for Linda Hunt who is a short white woman playing a half chinese male midget in this film. Different ethnicity and different gender. It was actually a bit distracting knowing he was a she. Other notes, Mel Gibson looks sooo young and then u realize he was 26 in this and wonder why he seems sooo old. Also, Sigourney Weaver never looked better than in this film.

Weir is my favorite director and I loved this movie. He takes time to settle an atmosphere, and Gibson - far away from his heroes and or masochist victims characters is excellent
