A solitary joke stretched to breaking point in a film that just delivers a headache from frenzied shouting amongst its cameos and slapstick. I gave up 2 hours in ....... I know, right?

The largely negative reviews lead me to make a comment on this movie. It's genuis. Not every scene is funny but why should it be? The whole film plays out like a long SNL sketch. The cringy family moments made me want to turn it off at first because they are so terrible. After a while I came to appreciate that it is like this on purpose, and actually reminded me of some awkward family moments. I think it's really good.

Just finished it, it was really funny! I found myself laughing out loud quite a few times. The writing was really good, they just kept cramming more and more people into that tiny house. The father/daughter dance was an emotional scene that they built toward and it paid off nicely. This movie wont win any oscars but it's a good time. Thank you Adam Sandler and Chris Rock.
