Nice cinematography and style of shots. Although somewhat a shallow story, it does lead up to an interesting ending. And it's great seeing Alison Elliott in another film.

Another inriguing early effort from Soderbergh. His unconventional narrative in Traffic, started here. Great visuals with some strong performances.

Le plus mauvais Soderbergh que j'ai vu a ce jour, un remake laborieux et inutile, avec des comediens trop previsibles (a part Alison Elliott) et une construction en flashbacks peu convaincante.

The Underneath is too chaotic to work as a thriller. The suspense kicks in too late and blends uneasily with the rest of the film. But the movie has other sorts of appeal. At heart, it is not a lurid, noir story but a study of characters caught in an emotional disaster.
