The TV Set (2007)

As a writer named Mike struggles to shepherd his semi-autobiographical sitcom into development, his vision is slowly eroded by a domineering network executive named Lenny who favors trashy reality programming. The irony, of course, is that every crass suggestion Lenny makes improves the show's response from test audiences and brings the show a step closer to getting on the air.

A small gem of a film with each of its stars doing some of their best work, especially a passive aggressive Sigourney Weaver. I wonder how close to reality it is.

a good look into the lives of sitcom writers, really enjoyed it

Fantastic little movie about the television bit. It's not uproariously hilarious, but that's not to say it isn't funny.

A good film that shows how an American Television comes to life and how the pressures of the network changes how it turns out for the worse

A less funny, less subtle, less satirical version of the Larry Sanders Show. Probably only film people will get it, but it's still worth a watch. I'm really getting tired of Judd Apatow getting his Freaks N' Geeks buddies their own projects, though.
