The impressionistic story of a Texas family in the 1950s. Tedious and frustrating for some, but it's beautifully filmed, superbly acted (Brad Pitt gives the performance of his career), brilliantly directed, wonderfully composed and more importantly, thought-provoking. I still haven't figured out what this movie really is about (it requires multiple viewings), but The Tree of Life is genius Terrence Malick's career defining work.

An emotional and spiritual journey that doesn't shy away from the difficult questions about life and love. It is a slow film, so it's not for the average moviegoer. It's more than just entertainment, it's life-challenging and purpose-driven art.

This film is a poem communicated through the language of cinema and must be approached with the same kind of reverence you would give T. S. Eliot's Four Quartets. It is a work of great art. Cinema's marriage of the true, the good, the beautiful.
