Oren Rudavsky's adaptation of Daniel Menaker's novel is a quietly enjoyable romantic comedy for adults who like to see characters acting like adults.

Except the fact that Famke is stunningly beautiful there isn't much reason to watch this

A nice romantic comedy about a school teacher who finally falls in love with the right woman but must over come his psychoanalyst's objections (humorously played by Ian Holm) and a few unexpected twists. Oren Rudavsky shows that someone other than Woody Allen can create a comedy about relationship starved New Yorkers!

This isn't a romantic comedy as the label said, it's a drama about the Englishteacher Singer who struggles with his feelings, his aggressive psycologist and his students who by reweing books describes Singers own lifestory. Very arty.

Lisa Schwarzbaum 08 May 2007

The filmmaking is rudimentary in The Treatment, Oren Rudavsky's adaptation of Daniel Menaker's novel, but the feeling for the patient-and-shrink dynamic is authentic.
