The Tomorrow War (2021)

The world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future, mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester. Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist and his estranged father in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.

It wasn't perfect, BUT it was entertaining and ALOT better than what has been coming out the last couple years. I would say for a reference "A Quiet Place" was perfection and this was entertaining, so still a win.

This movie is a solid 7 or 8 but I rated it a 10 to slightly offset the irrationally negative reviews. Many of the negative “professional” reviews have an obvious agenda against Chris Pratt because of his politics (he’s a Conservative & Republican). I’m a progressive myself & couldn’t care less about his politics. But the insane woke left is apparently triggered by anyone or anything that contains/promotes old fashioned family values &/or a star who doesn’t toe the usual Hollywood line. Tomorrow War shamelessly borrows from a variety of flicks…Aliens, Independence Day, Starship Troopers, Edge of Tomorrow, etc… But the bottom line is while it has some script flaws it’s the most fun I’ve had watching a good old fashioned sci-if action flick in a long time.

The movie is just plain fun. Great action, funny, and heartfelt. Way better than Independence Day.

It is a fool’s errand to imagine what someone like Verhoeven would have done with The Tomorrow War’s material – this is a movie made for the express purposes of delivering some lazy woo-hoo summer fun, not any kind of sneaky subversiveness.

It’s enough to make you long for the days when blockbusters of this scale weren’t afraid to make strong choices, especially the ones about how we’re all going to die if we don’t.
