We all have our guilty-pleasure films, and 'Predator 2' is one of my all-time favourites. This 1990 A-grade grindhouser is bloodthirsty, brutal, nasty, ridiculous and vicious - and at the same time exciting, hilarious, spectacular, unnerving and vivid. There's an ugly yet beautiful edginess about 'Predator 2' that I've always enjoyed. Its humid and terrifying near-future LA looks like it could burst into full-scale war at any minute - and then the Predator shows up. And the cast - what a wonderful assembly of urban hard-cases, bludgeoning through each day like it will be their last (and often is). I have 'Predator 2' on DVD and have it seen many times - but I would love to see it again on the big screen :)

Storyline is exciting and more so than the first. Americans dying in a cruel manner making this a first rate movie for action and bloodshed. Photography and CGI of high standard with stark sound effects making for a home theatre sensation worthy of the time spent. Sci-Fi ending is simple yet ends film on a great high. Imperfect but the good parts overshadow the weaknesses. The first half is a cliche ridden cop movie and the second half is a tense and well done sci fi actioner. The movie gives us a new backdrop for the Predator, introduces a tribe, a ship, and new weapons. Also a sense of honor by not killing a pregnant woman. The ending climax is the best part, in a small homage to the midpoint of Aliens. Overall a solid sequel due to some subpar spin-offs.
