People review this as if it were a remake.I thoughtit was an excellent prequel and a loving tribute to carpenter's film. If I had to choose between Carpenter's film and this ,sure I'd go for the 82 but I would rather watch this one and watch Carpenter's immediately afterwards,try it.Prequel not remake.

I absolutely love this movie! It isn't a remake or reboot, it's a prequel. The beginning of the original is in this movie! I also happen to be a John Carpenter fan.

want to watch it on flixter but will not play? saw on blu-ray player thought it was great they should now do a remake of the original.

super dope. i loved this movie and regret not watching it for so long. the effects and gore and the thing all looked really cool, this movie was just great, next movie to watch that i have put off for to long....poltergeist!
