Tom Berenger goes undercover as a substitute at a Miami school to solve the mystery of whom hit on his g/f (Verona). A drug ring rules within the school, and someone whom you may not expect is a part of it. A good shoot-it-out flick, though the acting was only so-so, predictable scenes, and kinda funny that no cops show up throughout the movie in a school war zone...some of it's mild flaws. Good way to kill a Sunday evening..

What "Dangerous Minds" SHOULD have been like. Normally when a sub-budgeted movie like "The Substitute" doesn't do well financially, that is the end of it. HOWEVER, there was some sort of magic present in the cast of the first film to spawn a franchise.

Though the setup is largely preposterous, the filmmakers go whole-hog for the idea and provide a kinetic entertainment.
