Interesting plot, always good performance from Peter O Toole, Steve Railsback is good, but he always reminds of his role as Charles Manson in the TV movie Helter Skelter. Overall good film, not great, has a cult following

Its ok. I just watched it for Peter O'Toole. Railsback creeped me out. I just cant think of him as anyone but whats his face from the x-files.

Quite honestly, the most bizarre movie I've ever seen. What's so strange about it is that on the surface the narrative seems fairly straigtforward, yet you can never tell what's real and what isn't. Peter O'Toole is amazing as the psychopathic movie director. The lead actor is no great shakes, but I guess in the 70's it wasn't that rare to have such a high-profile movie with such a no-name actor. He does what's required of him. I actually didn't mind Barbara Hershey in this either. I usually can't stand her. I would stop short of calling this movie a masterpiece, but it's hard to put it out of your head.

This one combines all the themes from the rest of my top 10 -- why movies are wonderful, what's real and what's not, where sanity begins and ends, and Peter O'Toole!
