This is a great film noir with a brilliant performance from Barbara Stanwyck. I'm not a big fan of Lisbeth Scott who's very much a second rate Lauren Bacall but even she can't ruin this tense, well written and tautly directed thriller.

This movie was okay, it was really long and predictable. The role that Lizabeth Scott played just really annoyed me. I'm not sure if it was her acting or just her, but I know the movie probably whould have been ten times better without her character.

2 of my faves, Stanwyck and Douglas. Right on.

One of the most effective and underrated noirs of that classic era.

The Strange Love of Martha Ivers is an amazing film. It is about a ruthless, domineering woman who is a married to an alcoholic D.A. Barbara Stanwyck and Van Heflin give excellent performances. The screenplay is well written. Lewis Milestone did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama and mystery. The Strange Love of Martha Ivers is a must see.
