This film has a surprisingly lavish production and the most engaging, as well as time enduring story of the Astaire/Rogers pairings that I've seen so far.

A beautifully told story, with sincere and vigorous performances, and with a solid and richly atmospheric production to lend its interest and fascination.

Don't have much to say about the film. When you watch it, you'll know how great it is. Love story, tear-jerker, historicial...etc. The dancing makes it great.

Though acharacteristic of Astaire-Rogers in several ways, it still contains the charm and glamor I've come to adore.

Very touching and moving story (also true, too!) with some great dancing. It's worthy to note that this was the last film that Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers did together until The Barkleys of Broadway, which was made 10 years later.
