A rookie cop is assigned to the 118 Precinct in the same district where he grew up. The Precinct Captain starts receiving letters about two unsolved murders that happened many years ago in the housing projects when the rookie cop was just a kid. The director of Fighting directed this? I love the cast and story is OK but the pacing is terrible and too many boring flashbacks. For a police drama this one was actually kinda boring in many places. Highly disappointed.

I give this 3 stars because I was pretty into this until about 2/3 through the movie. It had a good plot, it had the power to go places, but then it just got really convoluted and borderline confusing. At least Channing Tatum's mustache was worthwhile, lol.

Here's a bad movie with hardly a bad scene. How can that be? The construction doesn't flow. The story doesn't engage. The insistent flashbacks are distracting. The plot has problems it sidesteps. Yet here is a gifted cast doing what it's asked to do. The failure is in the writing and editing.

Average cop movie with a great supporting cast. The film moves slowly and nothing much happens until the end! Its saving grace is that there are welcome appearances from Al Pacino, Ray Liotta and Juliette Binoche.
