Gregory Peck? Ava Gardner? What else could you ask for?? I guess for Hollywood not to butcher a wonderful piece of literature...

Superb movie. Although it deviates from the novel's climax, The Snows of Kilimanjaro maintains a tight momentum and is crisply written, considering its source matter that's no surprise. While Peck plays his Harry with wry humour, Ava Gardner is simply divine.

Plays better on the page than on stage or screen, but Peck and Gardner give it their all.

Not as great as hailed. A strong performance by Gregory Peck, but the film adaption just does not rise up to the mediations induced by Hemingway's writing. Also, the fact that the ending is completely different from the original ruins the whole point of the story. Like other features from this era set in exotic locations, the merging of studio main scenes with on-location backdrops raises sarcastic smiles.

Movie kept getting better as character played by Gregory Peck is developed. Ava Gardner and Peck are amazing together. John Hamm reminds me of Peck.
