Jerry Mulligan is an exuberant American expatriate in Paris trying to make a reputation as a painter. His friend Adam is a struggling concert pianist who's a long time associate of a famous French singer, Henri Baurel. A lonely society woman, Milo Roberts, takes Jerry under her wing and supports him, but is interested in more than his art.

I love Gershwin. I love Minnelli. I love Gene Kelly. People don't like this one so much. I don't understand why. I think it has more charm than Singin in the Rain. I felt a bit of magic and passion here that I haven't felt from too many films. I always recommend it before Singin in the Rain. The people I show it to, prefer the style to the other as well. It really isn't for today's world where we need constant color and action and story progression. It irks me. But this movie is good and somehow or another underrated. For shame!

Gene Kelly, the music of George Geshwin and Paris....This movie musical is the second best of it's type! Add the very dry wit of Oscat Levant and the beauty of Leslie Caron.....This is a great movie!!

My favorite Gene Kelly movie (which is saying something). Not to mention it has my favorite dance sequence ever, "I've Got Rhythm". And definetly in my top five movies of all time.
