The Seasoning House is a rough and brilliant film. It definitely is NOT a movie for the average baboon, arthouse here being cleverly ensnarled with mainstream. It´s an uncompromising and brutal glimpse into a real-life world, which most people do not want to gain insight into. That most probably being the reason for the movie´s bad rating. But: However you rate this movie, young actress Rosie Day is a sensation. she´s bound to be an identifiable star.

I really wanted to enjoy this. It had a great premise, but sadly just didn't hold together well. Great cast of Kevin Howarth and Sean Pertwee, but the remaining cast was pretty forgettable. The man in this movie were brutal. All of them. Horrible disgusting animals. And the poor woman. But sadly no real characters other than Sean Pertwee and Kevin Howarth (and he wasn't in it enough). It was hard to get into the characters and story when it was just sheer depravity and cruelty towards these poor women.

It's cleverly made on a small budget, but is so over-designed and carefully structured that we never believe it. I say SKIP IT!!!

Dull, depressing, deadening and dragging rubbish.

An expertly crafted thriller and manages to show a heartfelt side of the issue.
