This film started off really promisingly. However there was too much nudity and it was overly gruesome. I also found the ending incredibly rushed and a huge let down, i mean how easy was the bad guy to kill? it was just stupid! The only thing which saved this film was Lucy's acting..

Really liked this film. Vampires were definitely a lot stronger with less weaknesses then I'm used to though.

Interesting movie but it could have used a bit more depth. And by a bit I mean a lot more. All in all it was okay though.

I would have given this new vampire flick 4 stars, due to the similarity to an old favorite vampire flick 'the Hunger' (David Bowie played the rapidly aging vampire)... No fangs kind of vampire movies whereas the vampires carry miniature knife pendants to slit the victims throats. What puts me off in Rise is, the damn rape scenes, here we go again, exposing women and girls nudity as usual. It's a sickening trend in movies lately as if the penises can't think up anything better to do. Another unagreeable thing is exposing Lucy Liu, I'm surprised she agreeded to this pathetic male flick. Too much sick boob screen times. It's not surprising it got hell of a lot low ratings especially among female species! Exposure, Rape and Death to Resurrection and Revenge. A deadly boring cycle. Hardly much of a story. By all rights I should give this 1-2 stars like everyone else.
