The Saratov Approach (2013)

An inspirational true story. On what seemed like any other day, Elders Travis Tuttle (Corbin Allred) and Andrew Propst (Maclain Nelson) are approached by Nikolai (Nikita Bogolyubov) to teach a friend. But then the missionaries experience the unimaginable - they are kidnapped, beaten, and held for ransom. While their families, friends, and the world pray for their safe release, Tuttle and Propst are tested physically, emotionally, and most of all spiritually.

I liked this a lot. The plot doesn't deviate very far from the true events that inspired the film. I felt that the acting was very real and sincere, and there were definitely those moments of suspense. The turn of events is touching, and you can really feel the humanity in each of the characters. This is definitely a movie I would see again, and i would definitely bring a friend.

The Saratov Approach is the best movie the church has come out with since The Best Two Years. I still like Best Two Years more, but this one was way better than 17 Miracles and Ephraim's Rescue. It had its preachy parts, but they didn't annoy me. The acting was impressive, some scenes were pretty intense, and it also had some uplifting parts. I'm glad I saw it and I strongly suggest it.

Had me in tears more than any other movie I've seen. Sadly the acting on the part of the mothers was poor, but other than that it was amazing.

Religious propaganda. You almost got me, Batty. Almost.

This is an amazing movie for adults and teens. Based on a true story, the movie draws you in and leads you through a very compelling drama to a surprising conclusion.
