In an age of Saws and Hostels I have to say that this movie really came out on top, if only for the mere fact that this film wasn't over the top like its predecessors and honestly it gave off a hitchcock twist as far as the villains were portrayed and even though Elisha doesn't truly resemble a super model she did a fine job as a damsel in distress. The gore was extreme but it surved the movie's purpose quite well, unlike Hostel 2 which came out only a while before Captivity came out....trust me i would much rather watch a heroine save the day and win a battle than to watch a villain bathe and practially masterbate under a naked blood soaked helpless nerd...you choose...Elisha or perverted pathetic nonsense?

Roland JoffÃ©, einer der Unvollendeten Hollywoods, dessen Karriere schon wieder vorbei war, bevor sie richtig begann, dreht einen hypersadistischen Hardcoresplatterfilm. Klingt interessant und ist es auch. Die Story ist schlicht und der Schauplatz extrem reduziert, aber JoffÃ© findet eindrÃ¼ckliche, hÃ¶chst stilisierte Bilder fÃ¼r Klaustrophobie, Gefangenschaft und Tortur. So gesehen: Torture Porn als Arthousekino. Oder vielleicht auch: der gute Film, den James Wan mit seinem ersten SAW-Film hÃ¤tte drehen kÃ¶nnen. Im Gegensatz zu JoffÃ© hat's Wan aber vergeigt.

Good movie, but there is this one part that completly disgusted me a little. It was the part where he made her drink blood and guts. Though there were a few holes and jump cuts in the edit.

Not a bad horror movie. Very interesting and exciting, with a very good story to it. It's not as bloody\graphic as Saw, Hostel, or Turistas...but It does have It's disturbing moments.
