The Sand (2015)

After an all-night graduation beach party, a group of hung-over students wakes up under the blazing sun to find their numbers somewhat depleted. If this would have used practical fx, this easily could have been so much better. I want to love it, because it's bad and fun and has a great creature but my god those fx with all its other issues (the "humor"), really PULLED IT INTO THE SAND AMIRITE

I liked this movie. I gave it a 4 star because the acting was ok and the special effects werent the best for 2015 but I did like the different ways the alien picked off the survivors.

this movie is stupid and so are the characters in it. the idea isn't terrible, although Tremors does it much better, but it's cheesy and there's too many holes in the plot to have a chance at being saved. it's 2015, don't we have enough of these?

Another creature feature is an understatement. This was one of the better creature features where you don't go into it with a serious nature and clipboard ready to pick out it's flaws. It's rather a movie where you're supposed to enjoy the cheesiness of the deaths and the creature, not immediately start comparing it to every other movie that you've seen. All in all it's a great movie where the survivalists leave with a better image of life.

Cheap tricks, average actors, occasional nipslip, stupid cop, thin story. Would be more effective as a short movie. CGI done by semiprofessionals.
