Disturbing and macabre, with memorable and passionate performances. Plot of the movie seems intendedly unresolved at the end ... quite quirky though worth the watch.

A lot going on in this movie. Almost no exposition to help you figure things out. This actually makes it a better movie, in my opinion. The little boy is trying to make sense of the things going on around him and the troubled adults in his life. In fact, all of the characters are struggling with things they do not understand. By keeping things "weird" and hard to follow, I think the director forces us to empathize with all of the helplessness, loss, and loss of innocence. Just a great great film.

The only good thing about it was Viggo Mortensen and his naked behind... which pretty much goes without saying. I think people who like this movie are really just trying to be interesting. It kind of felt like a good idea that didn't pan out. Seriously though, Mortensen was the only thing holding this together for me. He's the only one that made me believe he was who he was on the screen.
