The Principal (1987)

Burglary. Drugs. Assault. Rape. The students at Brandel High are more than new Principal Rick Latimer bargained for. Gangs fight to control the school using knives - even guns - when they have to. When Latimer and the head of security try to clean up the school and stop the narcotics trade, they run up against a teenage mafia. Another pleasant surprise from the 80's

Belushi is really good in this role that inspired alot of later movies like Dangerous Minds and the awful 187 which this is wayy better even though people give it shit about being an 80s movie.

A new principal at a tough school attempts to clean up the school by standing up to the top thugs in the student body whose behaviour cannot be reformed by detention. Pretty good, but no Class of 1984.

Jim Belushi cracks down on a crime-ridden high school. The Principal is full of cliches and feels like a movie you've seen before and know all too well, but it is watchable. (First and only viewing - 8/6/2014)
