Too convoluted, but better than its reputation suggests

Plot: The host of an investigative news show is convinced by the CIA that the friends he has invited to a weekend in the country are engaged in a conspiracy that threatens national security. This is an old movie (1983) based on the book by Robert Ludlum. He's the same guy that brought you the Bourne films. This is a pretty good thriller.

A weird, confused, silly/stupid, even awful film, featuring a journalist working for the CIA, I guess about the relationship between bourgeois civil society and the state.
