Entertaining 70s sci-fi action film starring Charlton Heston as the survivor of an apocalyptic war which left other people deformed.

If you're a fan of I am legend,you're gonna like this as it's the 70s version and well worth watching.

This is classic Heston struting around drinking and shooting anything that moves. It's based off the novel I am legend, which will smith did all right but he's no Heston.

i loved this film when i saw it in the 70s, i probably quite liked it when i saw it in the 80s and 90s when it was repeated on tv. watching it as a dvd right now and the magic has diminished a little. there are moments when chuck as a hero is a little camp. the early empty city shots are very effective, in a way that "i am legend" wasn't. now that i am older i can see the cheese factor is in the organic extra mature variety but i still love it. rent it.

Flawed science fiction actioner. Chuck Heston is superb as Neville and the first half of the film is truly excellent, atmospheric filmmaking, with cool music. Unfortunately things soon go sour with the introduction of the other survivors, whereby the film becomes increasingly soapy, silly fare. The religious symbolism in the film's climax is particularly ludicrous. It's definately a cult classic nonetheless.
