Very good acting from Audrey, who can't rely on glamour or her amazing beauty to get through this movie as she spends most of it in costume. Not a pop-corn entertainer, and certainly not a chick flick. Very well directed by Fred Zinnemann.

This is a surprisingly good film. It shows the sacrifices nuns had to make, and what they had to go through to become a nun. Audrey Hepburn does well to portray a nun who is going through her own personal battle with her own beliefs and desires on the one hand, and her love for the nun order and God on the other. The ending is quite bleak and sad

This movie showed Audey's talent. She was one of the best potrayal of nun. This story revolves around the conflict of the heart, between the interest of the church and the common good. The movie wasn't so explicit yet it does argue the church in way was revolutionary in its time for a movie.

Lovely film telling the story of nun Audrey Hepburn, her work in the Belgian Congo, her doubts and her eventual decision about her future as a nun. The setting and characters are engaging, and Hepburn is excellent under her wimple! Crusty old Peter Finch is also good.
