Tired of life as soldiers, Peachy Carnehan and Danny Dravot travel to the isolated land of Kafiristan, where they are ultimately embraced by the people and revered as rulers. Based on a story by Rudyard Kipling, I think this is one of John Houston's bests. And Connery and Caine made an delightfully enchanting and roguish pair!

I had to watch this one in High School and loved it... An ordinary man who has the chance to become a kind and it thought to be a god... Excellent film!

Huston made this epic relatively late in life, and, for some reason, it was mostly overlooked. I still don't get why. A magnificent, rousing film, and Caine and Connery are a team for the ages. I am saddened to think they never worked together again. What camaraderie!

Rudyard Kipling's short story of two ragtag English soldiers questing to find riches and power in a barren land. Sean Connery and Michael Caine have excellent chemistry, and the plot is just amazing.
