This is a truly great movie. People who see this as just horny nuns with emotional problems are superficial people. It's as much about Medieval times MORE than it's about Catholicism. It's based upon, and is true to, the Decameron which is written when many monasteries filled up with people trying to escape The Plague. This is a great movie and John C Reilly nails it as the monastery's Father.

So many funny details and a fantastic cast. Lots of laughs!

Just an adorable little movie, though pretty raunchy. With an All-Star cast and a really funny payoff, I would definitely recommend this movie!

Peter Keough 05 Jul 2017

The film manages to be both crudely hilarious and bluntly satiric while also establishing sympathetic characters, a sharp contemporary wit, a sly, dry absurdism.

Michael Atkinson 19 Jun 2017

Goofy as it is, Baena's film has a lovable humility to it. It doesn't try to be the definitive anything, even as it stands as arguably the savviest Decameron adaptation ever made.
