Good message that could have been delivered in 1:30 not 2 hours

Beat by beat, though, Lauler (played by the stellar Shirley MacLaine) “evolves” in Mark Pellington’s predictable dramedy The Last Word. Cinematic comfort food comes to mind, and rest assured, mom and grandma will probably have a nice time.

When the viewer rating is double the critic rating you have to wonder why - are the critics scoring it according to some film school checklist? I saw this film and it was very funny and very sad in turn, and really well acted by the main characters, and I think everyone in the cinema had the same view. Recommended
