Burt Reynolds through The Last Movie Star tells a story both beautiful and sad, he explores the dark side of fame and what it can do to a person but he also tells about Burt Reynolds the human being, and that itself is enough to make this film watchable, it falls under a weird kind of movies but it has a kick to it and it's too funny to hate. Burt Reynolds used the medium of film to express and showcase his illustrious life and he did it with style and it was a joy to watch, in a way it was a perfect send off to an amazing movie star.

Do not be mislead by the cranky "critics" reviews. This movie is charming and sad and heartwarming and quite good.

...a love letter to Reynolds that manages to adore him unsentimentally, understanding that revealing the flaws can result in a fuller, richer portrait

The director Adam Rifkin wrote this showcase for Mr. Reynolds, who, like Vic, was a college football player. The Last Movie Star effectively allows the ever-assured actor to score a touchdown on an empty field.
